About Sigurd
Sigurd is a British landscape photographer who’s work is characterised by his passion for adventure and seeking natural beauty. While he has always been fascinated with traveling and exploring the world, it was not until he arrived in California for University that he discovered the art of photography as a medium. Since then he has traveled to over fourteen U.S States and eighteen different countries.
His favourite photographs are the ones that require him to push boundaries in order to capture the moment. Whether it be hiking through desert sand dunes, submerging himself waist deep in snow, or driving eighteen hours for sunrise, Sigurd enjoys the unique challenges presented by nature. In order to capture the Aurora Borealis he drove five hours through snow storms in the Finnish arctic circle. Battling inclement weather and a less-than three percent chance of witnessing this natural phenomenon he managed to experience the elusive lights. Sigurd has always felt a poignant affinity with the British philosopher Thomas Paine who said; “the tougher the conflict, the more glorious the reward.”
Outside of photography Sigurd is an avid sportsman. He enjoys playing rugby, tennis, cricket and skiing. He also represented Great Britain as an oarsman in the Junior World Championships.
